Your Opportunity

The Community Development team in Irvine has an established strong core team and is now looking for the right team member to further expand our Community Development civil engineering services in the area, with an emphasis on projects in the municipal public works market sector. Our team supports a wide range of clients and project types and has new opportunities for talented and motivated team members / partners to lead new project opportunities.

You will help build and lead a team of professionals in the preliminary engineering, final engineering construction drawings, construction support, and close out, of public works corridor and site development projects. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

  • Develop new proposals under direction of a Principal and/ or Practice Leader

  • Under direction of Principal and / or Practice Leader assist in developing new project opportunities and building new municipal agency client relationships.

  • Successful management of the contracted scope, budget, and deliverables schedule are key to this role.

  • Identify additional services / changes in scope from the contract. Successfully communicate changes to client and obtain client authorizations prior to execution of work efforts are key to this role.

  • Responsible for the overall project performance and implementation of our project management frameworks.

  • Responsible for implementation of Health and Safety Plan for all project’s under your supervision.

  • Responsible for implementation of Project Plans for all projects under your supervision.

  • Execute and document quality control of all deliverables in accordance with PM Frameworks.

  • Lead the Design Team to execute civil engineering related services for municipal project clients.

  • Day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team.

  • Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.

  • Prepare project status reports on a regular basis.

  • Review and approval all invoices and change orders associated with the project.

  • Primary point of contract and representative to internal partners and clients.

  • Reports to Principal.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proven experience marketing and managing public agency projects.

  • Strong understanding of and ability to read plans and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of design and construction permitting / approval process and requirements.

  • Strong technical background with working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, roadway, water, and sewer improvements.

  • Experience with drainage improvements, hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality design and associated drainage software applications is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and team leader oriented.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Previous project management experience required.

  • Local project resume and experience in the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Inland Empire strongly preferred.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering

  • Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Registered Professional Engineer

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • CA Other Areas $115,900 - CA Other Areas $173,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
