The Business Excellence Manager must coordinate direct and indirect resources in order to identify,

analyze, design, execute, track and sustain operational and strategic projects that will deliver a

Business Enabler or Financial Impact on the plant. The Business Excellence Manager is responsible for

influencing multi-functional teams to deliver tangible business results through the application of

methodologies as JJPS (Johnson and Johnson Production System), Six Sigma and Lean

Manufacturing.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing the Business Excellence strategy for the manufacturing site

  • Providing leadership through the manufacturing site to advance the Business Excellence strategy across the Business Units and Support Groups while meeting all business commitments.

  • Support training requirements and certifications, as well as, track and deploy progress and achievements

  • Delivering process performance improvements around Quality, Product Supply, and Cost

  • Collaborating and partnering with Business Unit and Support Departments, stakeholders, across multiple functions

  • Manage and Provide guidance and to the Business Excellence Engineers and Technicians in their principal responsibilities

  • Fostering a Continuous Improvement Culture

  • Creating sustained business improvement results through the application of JJPS, Six Sigma and Lean Principles.

  • Monitoring and contributing to the Manufacturing Cost Improvement Program

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management

  • level.

  • Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required

  • A Six Sigma Green Belt is required, a Certified Black Belt is preferred

  • Requires 5-7 years of related experience

  • Experience including both Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, people management expertise strong cross-functional business acumen is required.

  • Experience in other total quality management methods such as re-engineering, problem solving, project management, etc. is preferred

  • Familiarity with FDA, GMP and ISO requirements is required

  • An in-depth understanding of accounting (standard cost), QSR/ISO requirements, trend analysis and failure rate analysis is preferred

  • An in-depth understanding of production and quality control techniques such as CFM, JIT, TQM,

  • CIM is preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints schematics and drawings is preferred

  • In-depth manufacturing knowledge is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to communicate either orally or in writing the improvements they have had in projects that have had an impact on the business

  • Must have the ability to audit production areas and identify discrepancies to requirements and develop action plans and establish corrective actions.

  • Must have extensive knowledge in relationships with personnel, manufacturing methods, production planning.

  • Must have extensive accounting knowledge (standard cost), QSR / ISO requirements, trend analysis.

  • Must be able to perform his/her activities getting support thru project management, problem solving, business/financial acumen, six sigma and process excellence tools/methodologies, presentation skills, training/education methodologies, people leadership, and talent development.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 99,000 to 170,200

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
