Robert Half Accounting Manager in Irvine, California

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager for a short-term contract employment opportunity in the Manufacturing industry located near Irvine, California. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing month-end close and account reconciliation, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes

• Lead the month-end close activities ensuring timely and accurate reporting

• Manage and perform account reconciliation and analysis

• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives

• Use advanced Excel formulas for financial reporting and analysis

• Develop and monitor business performance metrics

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts

• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing industry.

• Proven proficiency in month-end close activities is essential.

• Experience in account reconciliation is a must.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas is necessary.

• Prior experience in process improvement in an accounting context is needed.

• Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional Accounting certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar is desirable.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

• Must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
