Description

PURPOSE:

The Senior Relationship Manager – Corporate Partnerships will provide strategic guidance and direction on forming and cultivating new partnerships with corporate contributors to support Little City’s mission. The Senior Relationship Manager drives donor-centric partnerships by managing a group of qualified and prospective corporate donors (caseload) assuring that as many as possible are retained as continuing donors to the organization and are upgraded in their giving of time and contributions. The Senior Relationship Manager provides the opportunity for corporate donors to receive recognition and increase future giving opportunities. The Senior Relationship Manager will collaborate and engage with fundraising partners throughout the organization, including the Board of Directors and Committees, Executive Director, CDO, and Leadership Team to advance relationships and ensure a high-touch response to prospects and supporters. The Senior Relationship Manager serves as a member of the development team, influencing and driving relationships and best practices to accomplish financial goals and funding for our mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquires new corporation and business partners including collecting meaningful information about them and using that information to attract, initiate, engage or enhance their experience with Little City and foster long-term relationships.

  • Develops strategy for managing and protecting the relationship and interactions between Little City and current corporation and business contacts.

  • Work with marketing, communications, special events, grants, and other support functions to carry out the corporation and business relationship management processes outlined by Little City.

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of corporations and businesses who support Little City with a focus on developing richer, longstanding and more profitable relationships.

  • Create goals for each corporation or business based on customer objectives, relationships, history of giving and the organization’s knowledge of that organization’s interests.

  • Create a 12-24-month strategic plan for each corporation or business that will serve as a foundational communication and marketing plan for each.

  • Will faithfully and on a timely basis demonstrate excellent decision making and problem-solving skills while executing plans so corporations and businesses on the caseload are retained and upgraded.

  • Will partner with programs and the communications department to secure appropriate project information, including budgets, required to do necessary analysis and recommendations of offers, proposals and asks that will be used with persons on the caseload to secure gifts.

  • Will develop strong working relationships with Adult and Children’s services, Child Bridge Center for Education, Rec Center, Center for the Arts, Horticulture Center, and other internal programs to aid in developing proposals and asks.

  • Will develop strong working relationships with external corporations and professional associations.

  • Will create monthly reports as required by management that accurately reflects caseload activity and performance.

  • Actively utilize and consistently update databases containing donor records.

  • Successfully completes Little City Foundation required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City Foundation policies and practices, or as assigned by his or her immediate supervisor.

  • Demonstrates integrity, collaboration, and stewardship.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Performance Accountability - will be measured by:

  • Ability to identify, qualify, secure, cultivate and engage and retain corporate and business giving.

  • Ability to create reasonable financial and engagement goals for each corporation and business which is based on their interests, giving and their potential.

  • Ability to create a personal contact and ask plan, that considers the corporation or business interest, motivations, giving patterns and ask preferences, in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Ability to retain and upgrade corporation and business financial investments and areas and depth of engagement.

  • Ability to secure project and organization information and create and write effective offers, proposals and asks.

  • Ability to secure information that can be sent back to corporation and business representatives to report on how their resource of time, people, services, or finances was used.

  • Ability to create timely reports that reflect corporation and business engagement performance.

  • Ability to manage people, process, deadlines, and budget while adhering to the policies and procedures of the organization.

  • Ability to get along with peers, subordinates and management and maintain a positive and constructive attitude while solving problems.

  • Ability to be a team player and protect the mission, goals, and values of the organization.

  • Ability to secure project and organization information and create and write effective offers, proposals and asks.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s Degree is required. An advanced degree and/or certified designation is also required. A minimum of ten years in fundraising and/or corporate development with successful cultivating and soliciting experience, ideally in a non-profit setting. Proven progressive measurable success in all aspects of fundraising. Senior Relationship Manager must have successful experience in managing donor stewardship and facility to develop and maintain a strong presence in the philanthropic community. Familiarity with philanthropic and/or industry best practices. Outcome driven, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities. Proficiency in working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, exercising good judgment in prioritization. Exceptional organization skills and experience with prospect research and pipeline management. Outstanding writing skills to craft compelling proposals and targeted, meaningful communications. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in computer-based information systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to sitting for prolonged periods; frequently walks, stands, grasps , lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Extended use of computer and typing is required. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling office equipment. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 25 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate office equipment. No occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances (Category I). Typical office environment.
