Summary

CHS is hiring an Expert level AP/AR Specialist to join its expense reporting team. The Expert AP/AR Specialist will provide day-to-day support for the business unit customers and vendors through the entire procure-to-pay process and, at the same time, seek process improvement efficiencies and understand corporate structures, business contacts, and stakeholders. The person in this role will also participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

We are a high-level customer service department where contact with employees through phone calls, emails, team’s calls, teams messages are received extensively each day.

This is a hybrid position based out of Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Responsibilities

  • As a lead and functional expert, handle varied and the most complex escalated issues.

  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collection of money due to the company, and banking deposits.

  • Maintain accurate and complete client files/filing and make recommendations to improve the quality of invoicing and collection procedures.

  • Monitor processing of invoices and ensure timely payments.

  • Review client documentation to ensure proper systems set up and ensure compliance with correct accounting procedures.

  • Ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.

  • Train and provide guidance to Accounts Receivable/Payable employees, supervise assigned tasks and provide assistance as needed.

  • Maintain a process for tracking receipt of data and source documents.

  • Monitor and report on changes in payment standards.

  • Prepare and sort source documents and interpret data to be entered.

  • Contact preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data.

  • Perform data entry in the Accounts Payable/Account Receivable System from source documents, complete necessary coding, confirm accuracy of data, and make necessary corrections.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or AP/AR

  • High School diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications

  • Any experience with expense management systems, including the Concur Suite of products

  • Any experience with MOTUS

  • 2+ years experience in customer service type work

  • Proficient in MS Office suite

  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience using financial dashboards, modeling, and reporting

  • Ability to build external and internal relationships in order to effectively and creatively solve problems

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to facilitate meetings and lead discussions

  • Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field#LI-WB1

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
