POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager role will ensure that Starfish early childhood education centers offer the highest level of quality programming for children and their families. The Operations Manager will lead and support ECE projects and/or quality improvement initiatives. The Operations Manager will demonstrate a commitment to early childhood education best practices, possess a clear understanding of Head Start performance Standards as well as licensing requirements and the ability to lead innovation.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field of study required.

  • Master’s Degree in ECE, Education Administration or a related field preferred

  • Minimum five years of experience with early childhood education center leadership including mentoring and/or supervising staff, and experience with opening a new center, managing a renewal, or managing an accreditation.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONBILITES:

  • Work in partnership and collaboration with all agency managers and specialists to build systems to support center level operations.

  • Establish and maintain a partnership with all Center Leaders, providing mentorship and collaboration as a “think-partner”.

  • Work in partnership with Assistant Director, Center Leaders, and Training Manager to identify training needs and opportunities for center staff, through a variety of means (plans, develops, and conducts training programs and workshops for program staff). 

  • Lead and coordinate all centers’ licensing processes (i.e. scheduling inspections, coordinating licensing visits, tracking renewals, etc.) as well as support opening new centers to ensure consistency across centers.

  • Lead and coordinate center coverage when Center Leaders request position coverage.

  • Support planning, development, coordination, and implementation of programming to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, federal regulations, and state childcare licensing rules.

  • Provide support and guidance for all mandated initiatives and ensures the centers meet the established guidelines.

  • Support Assistant Director to assess each center’s culture and implement actions with Center Leaders to incorporate Starfish values so all employees feel supported, valued, and empowered.

  • Participate, in conjunction with Human Resources Business Partner, in posting, interviewing, hiring, placement, and onboarding of staff.

  • Identify/Problem-solve potential interruptions or challenges to providing high-quality programming daily and elevate those concerns/solutions to the Assistant Director.

  • Develop strategies to utilize technology to streamline operations.

  • Support the development and retention of the best and brightest early childhood talent and staff at Starfish Family Services.

     

    LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver’s license and / or reliable transportation.
