THE ROLE

The Accounting Associate will assist the Finance Manager with all accounting functions. These functions will include, but are not limited to, establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures, overseeing the preparation and evaluation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial operating reports and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Ensuring that all accounting and operational accounting functions are being performed in the most effective and efficient fashion, while conforming to the Standard Operating Procedures of the company.

· Assisting in the processes which ensure accurate, timely financial statements.

· Providing audit support for all financial activities.

· Providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required.

· Executing and enforcing applicable Sarbanes-Oxley standards.

· Working with Finance team and various department heads to meet reporting and budgeting needs.

· Performing and reviewing debit and credit reconciliations with the ability to resolve variances.

· Creating and reviewing receivables with the ability to resolve variances.

· Assisting in the budgeting and projection process for all revenue and expense streams as well as analysis of variances and creation of action plans to reduce or eliminate future variances.

· Contributes to team atmosphere of Legends.

· Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.

· A BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

· Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential.

· Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively, and to understand complex business dynamics.

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline oriented environment.

· Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays.

COMPENSATION

$31.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
