Staff Quality Engineer - Indianola, PA

STAFF QUALITY ENGINEER - INDIANOLA, PA PURPOSE This position has responsibility for supporting the Indianola plant related to product and process quality and provides project level Quality Engineering support for quality management system processes. This position will lead Quality Engineering activities related to day-to-day manufacturing across multiple production processes in a regulated medical device manufacturing facility. This position will provide leadership by championing departmental and/or cross-functional engineering initiatives by leading and supporting implementation of complex projects to meet Bayer goals and priorities. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Quality Engineering activities to support manufacturing at the Indianola Plant. Provide project level Quality Engineering support for new product launches and process updates and improvements, nonconforming material process, complaint investigations, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs),  pest control, process validation, and investigations for out of tolerance equipment; Lead investigations by conducting problem solving and root cause analysis to address failures identified by customer complaints, internal non-conformances and manufacturing yields; Provide focused Quality Engineering support to develop and maintain quality methodologies that meet customer, regulatory and Bayer requirements; Lead documentation review activities that facilitate in the timeliness of product release; Lead CAPAs to ensure effective identification and elimination of root causes and subsequent closure of all actions as per the plan; Identify, create, monitor data and quality trends. Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality system and manufacturing processes; Lead cost and quality improvement projects; Understand and apply knowledge of product line and clinical applications to work activities, and to support new products or processes. WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science; Experience within a technical discipline, with knowledge across breadth of discipline and significant depth in one or more technical specialties; Demonstrates excellent judgment in decision making regarding product disposition; Attention to detail; Working knowledge and proven skills of PC computer operating system including Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master Degree; At least 7 Years of experience within a technical discipline, with knowledge across breadth of discipline and significant depth in one or more technical specialties.
