FFP Shipping & Receiving Clerk 1st Shift in Indianapolis, Indiana
JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting with the shipping and receiving operations of the company. They will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of the contents, and storing them in the appropriate location. They will also be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring that they are properly packaged and labeled. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments and assist with inventory management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive incoming shipments, compare the contents to the purchase orders, and verify the accuracy of the products
Store incoming products in the appropriate location in the warehouse
Prepare outgoing shipments by picking and packing the products, ensuring that they are properly packaged and labeled
Create shipping labels and arrange for the pickup of outgoing shipments by the carrier
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments in the company's inventory management system
Assist with inventory management by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling any discrepancies
Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of shipments
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards, complying with Food Safety guidelines procedures, rules and regulation and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role is preferred
Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and best practices
Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment
Basic computer skills and proficiency in using inventory management software
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
