Description

The Network Engineer is essential in creating and managing a secure, efficient network infrastructure, focusing on stability and performance. They troubleshoot and resolve issues, maintaining optimal network operations and integrating new technologies. This professional collaborates with various teams to ensure network alignment with organizational goals. Continuous learning is crucial, as the engineer must stay abreast of the latest industry trends and innovations. Ultimately, their expertise ensures the network supports the organization's objectives and digital transformation efforts.

Requirements

Advanced position where the individual leads significant projects, mentors junior team members, and contributes to strategic planning. They are recognized for their deep expertise, leadership in problem-solving, and ability to drive projects to completion.

  • Design and architect network solutions that align with client needs and industry standards.
  • Implement network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their network requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to clients on network management and optimization.
  • Ensure network security measures are in place, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
  • Monitor compliance with industry regulations and standards in network configurations.
  • Regularly assess network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
  • Implement upgrades or modifications to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Stay informed about new networking technologies and trends to offer innovative solutions to clients.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies that can enhance network functionality and efficiency.
  • Exhibits advanced analytical skills, identifying complex issues and leading the development of innovative solutions, often in a client-facing role.
  • Takes a leadership role in team projects, facilitating collaboration, ensuring tasks align with project goals, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Demonstrates agility in adjusting strategies to meet changing business and project demands, often guiding teams through transitions or new challenges.
  • Communicates complex ideas clearly and persuasively to a variety of stakeholders, resolving conflicts and building consensus among team members and clients.
  • Actively participates in business development activities, helping to develop proposals and solutions for clients, and learning to articulate the value proposition of network solutions.
  • Lead technical pre-sales efforts, including system design, solution architecture, and proof of concept.
  • Mentor junior consultants, guiding their professional and technical development.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and encourage a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Plays a key role in strategic decision-making, aligning best practices with business objectives.
  • Publish blogs, or whitepapers that showcase expertise and insights in specific technical domains.
  • Speak at conferences, webinars, or client workshops, representing Moser's expertise.
  • Lead internal initiatives to drive innovation or improve methodologies and practices.
  • Leads initiatives in network automation, cost optimization, and security compliance.
  • Drives the adoption of new network technologies and methodologies.
  • Lead teams on projects, setting objectives, and ensuring alignment with client and firm goals.

Preferred Skills

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Strong knowledge and experience with layer 2/3 protocols, including HSRP, Spanning Tree, VPC and DNS. Experience designing and implementing dynamic routing solutions, such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • Proficiency configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Aruba and FortiNet switches.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Fortigate, and Sonicwall firewalls.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Meraki and Ubiquiti wireless.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to trouble shoot complex issues.

Where You'll Work

Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. You will have the choice to work from one of our Indianapolis, IN office locations, or flex your time. This is a hybrid/onsite position.
