SAIC Senior Electrical Engineer in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana

Description

SAIC is seeking a well-rounded Electrical Engineer in Indianapolis, IN. The position will be responsible for all activities associated with board level and system level integration of circuit card assemblies. Activities include PWB design and specification, floor planning, test and verification, and troubleshooting. The position will work with a team of MEs, programmers to integrate analog and digital electronics to pass all milestone reviews deliver product to DoD customers.

Job Duties:

  • Board level design adherent to requirements. Use of Altium Designer and other CAD systems.

  • Team leadership including concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, and systems integration.

  • Ensures the effective team implementation of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Performs Systems Engineering activities related to development of electronic assemblies.

  • Performs detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.

  • Provides specific, detailed information for selection, and implementation techniques. Duties require a good understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the fields of aircraft power, analog and digital design, software systems concepts and design for test and manufacturing.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed by management to measure whether objectives have been met.

  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.

  • Works under management guidance. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.

  • Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with projects.

  • Works from interfaces and specifications to realize in hardware and software weapons control and delivery systems.

  • Full lifecycle support of SAIC provided systems.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree and at least nine (9) years of experience.

  • Analog and digital design including, serial communication, logic design, power design, signal filtering and wave shaping.

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with software, firmware, mechanical and systems engineers.

  • Experience with Configuration Management Toolsets for version control of hardware, software, and documentation.

  • Familiarity with embedded microprocessors and FPGAs.

  • Experience bringing products from Design to Production.

  • Secret Clearance must be attainable.

Desired:

  • DOORS and Aras Toolsets.

  • Circuit simulation.

  • DoD weapons integration experience.

  • Safety Critical Hardware Design & Analyses (DoD, Medical, Automotive).

  • Product Life Cycle Management. Experience with product development procedures, specifically iterative product design & development of embedded systems.

  • Knowledge of Integrated Defense Acquisition and Logistics Life Cycle Management System, System Engineering Technical Review process or FDA Design Control Guidance for Medical Devices processes.

  • Able to provide limited stakeholder briefing and communications including project status.
