Position Summary

As the head of the executive branch, the Office of the Mayor is responsible for enforcing city ordinances and state laws; appointing, supervising and removing heads and employees of city government departments, agencies and divisions; appointing, supervising, and removing deputy mayors, with appointments subject to City-County Council approval; communicating and coordinating with the City-County Council concerning the financial condition and budget of the city and county; and setting the salaries of city employees.

Job Summary

Th is position is responsible for collaborating with City agencies and community partners to ensure effective implementation of project-centered goals and objectives are met. Additionally, this position is responsible for collaborating with Consolidated City of Indianapolis-Marion County Departments/Agencies and external agencies to ensure effective implementation of high-priority project-centered goals and objectives are met. This position reports to the Administrator - Policy Advisor.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide project management function for high-priority projects .

  • Break down goals and develops weekly, quarterly, and yearly plans to achieve organizational objectives .

  • Manage project timelines and execution from various team members .

  • Partner closely with program managers in departments to document appropriate justifications to ensure program eligibility .

  • Assist with the development of project road maps, milestones, and identification of project objectives within identified scope .

  • Analy ze complex issues within the workforce development ecosystem, identification of trends and implications, and development of recommendations and guidance for project team .

  • Conduct research as necessary to support issues and trends identified .

  • Generate high-quality PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other written deliverables .

  • Secure appropriate feedback and signoff on all deliverables .

  • Manage and repor t against goals, priorities, and objectives to the Policy Advisor .

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related work experience in business analytics or project management. Master’s Degree may be substituted for a portion of required work experience. Effective oral and written communications and comfort learning advanced computer skills is required. Candidate should be r esults-driven to meet the mission, vision, and goals of the City of Indianapolis . Candidate should have the d etail-oriented ability to take a need or objective, break it down into executable activities, identify questions that need to be asked, gather priorities and requirements, set and manage to milestones, and then execute effectively , as well as a t rack record of being a self-starter who work s collaboratively with a team .
