Piezo Technologies Production Supervisor - Fabrication in Indianapolis, Indiana

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor for Fabrication supports a team of employees by communicating company goals, safety practices and deadlines. Keeps management updated on team performance. Motivates team members, assesses performance, and training needs. Communicates concerns to Plant Manager and provides feedback to teams regarding safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises daily activities of the Fabrication department establishing priorities and monitoring workmanship quality
  • Organize unit and product schedule based on demand received from planning or management
  • Troubleshoots problems and identifies potential bottlenecks in the production flow to ensure necessary labor, materials, equipment, training and support is provided.
  • Utilize problem solving tools to ensure identification of root cause and appropriate corrective actions
  • Coordinates with internal departments to address production issues in a timely manner
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of production processes and procedures.
  • Develops, monitors, and continuously improves assigned processes in accordance with the Quality manual
  • Conducts Inspections of own and /or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and /or customer drawing
  • Ensures production team meets and maintains daily production targets
  • Coaches and develops direct reports. Identifies training needs and coordinates appropriate upskill training
  • Prepares performance documentation (i.e. evaluations and discipline) in a thorough and timely manner
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Interviews and makes hiring decision for open positions. Coordinates with Human Resources to ensure thorough onboarding and training of new hires
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Background

  • Requires 5 years of experience manufacturing, CNC/Machining experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with ERP manufacturing software
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Skills

  • Experience in planning, scheduling and monitoring production cycles
  • Good organizational skills to lead activities of production cycle
  • Experience in reading and interpreting work instructions, blue-prints and drawings
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
  • Skilled problem-solver: Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent
  • Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
  • Strong team building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Quality and safety-minded and detail oriented
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing and verbal skills)
Education
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year tech degree with 5 years experience in electronics field/manufacturing or equivalent experience.

ENVIRONMENTAL and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the ob. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.

May need to work Saturdays, variable scheduled(s) and additional hours as necessary.
