Robert Half Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana
Description
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Medical Accounts Receivable specialist to train onsite in Indianapolis, IN, however, this role will transition to remote once the specialist is fully trained and able to work independently after a couple of months.
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8-hour shift between 7:30am - 5pm
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and distribute patient billing statements in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in assessing the financial status of patients and engage in discussions about financial payment plans.
• Follow up on accounts with overdue payments to ensure resolution where possible.
• Execute collection actions by initiating calls and in-person meetings with patients.
• Handle appeals on denied claims, submit and resubmit corrected claims as necessary.
• Process and post payments from both patients and insurance companies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure bills are paid promptly.
• Verify patients’ insurance coverage, complete pre-authorizations, and audit patient financial plans.
• Manage accounts receivable reports and ensure A/R is current and accurate.
• Answer and resolve queries related to medical billing activities.
Requirements • Proficiency in Medical Collections.
• Demonstrable experience with Medical Denials.
• Familiarity with Medical Claims processing.
• Proven skills in Eligibility Verification.
• Extensive knowledge in managing Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using healthcare related software and tools.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certification or training in medical collections will be advantageous.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; higher education in a relevant field will be preferred.
• Demonstrable knowledge of healthcare industry standards and best practices.
