Generator Technician

Job Description

The Pump and Power Field Technician troubleshoots and diagnoses complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems, performs advanced and complex repairs on all types of equipment, and scopes customers’ needs to provide solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems.

  • Perform advanced and complex repairs on various types of equipment.

  • Scope customers’ needs and provide effective solutions.

  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance for customers in the Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Construction industries.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude with 3+ years of experience working with generators or HVAC systems.

  • Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.

  • EPA Universal (608) certification.

  • Knowledge of generator maintenance, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding and repair of mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment, generators, HVAC systems, and air compressors.

  • Understanding of refrigeration systems (EPA Certified).

  • Knowledge of electrical engines and controllers.

  • Experience operating dehumidification equipment from CDI and Munters.

  • Comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and 'across the line' motor starting is preferred.

  • Some factory training in diesel, generator, compressor, and HVAC systems.

Work Environment

The Field Technician will travel to various customer locations in the Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Construction industries to perform preventive and reactive maintenance. The role involves a mix of on-road travel and on-site repair work. The work schedule includes a 7 to 1 reactive to preventative maintenance call ratio.

This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
