Role Overview:

As the Equity and Inclusion Director, you will be a vital part of the Diversity and Development Division within the agency. The role will focus on administering programmatic efforts within the agency and serving as a content specialist. In this position, you will utilize education, consultation, programming, and coordination to accomplish goals.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Designs and facilitates all internal trainings related to equity, inclusion, and opportunity initiatives;

  • Partners with content experts to enhance learning opportunities;

  • Creates, develops, and sustains the programmatic efforts for the equity, inclusion, and opportunity initiatives;

  • Interprets and explains policies, rules, regulations, or laws to organizations, government or corporate officials, or individuals;

  • Develops methods to gather, scaffold and organize feedback from internal and external stakeholders;

  • Tracks all metrics for both business and equity, inclusion, and opportunity goals / objectives;

  • Partners with other equity liaisons to promote and enhance equity, inclusion, and opportunity initiatives;

  • Collaborates with State of Indiana agencies to ensure effective implementation of internal and external initiatives;

  • Engages the agency in initiatives to improve belonging and agency culture for all staff members;

  • Reviews policies and procedures to make researched, best practices recommendations;

  • Actively engages in development opportunities to stay up to do on research and best practices in all areas of work.

What You'll Need for Success:

The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either

  • a Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience, or

  • an Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of experience, or

  • at least 7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.

Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.

  • Thorough ability to design, facilitate, and assess programs related to equity, inclusion, and opportunity;

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, laws, regulations, theories, and practices, with regard to equity, inclusion, and opportunity, relevant state, and federal employment regulations;

  • Thorough knowledge of policies, standards and requirements set by federal and state officials for compliance by state agencies;

  • Advanced ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback to inform initiatives;

  • Advanced ability to analyze information and work with large amounts of data;

  • Advanced ability to convey messaging through verbal and written communication;

  • Advanced abilities in presentation and coaching of staff;

  • Advanced ability to set clear direction and manage workflow;

  • Ability to effectively communicate.
