Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Enterprise Data Architect in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to:

  • Be accountable for designing, developing, and maintaining the enterprise-wide data architecture, encompassing analytics, reporting, transactional, and operational data systems.

  • Lead the organization's data transformation initiatives, aligning with our shift towards a SaaS model and preparing our data infrastructure for the next 5-10 years.

  • Drive the adoption of modern data technologies, including Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures, moving beyond traditional data warehouse approaches.

  • Design and implement integration strategies and event-driven architectures to connect distributed applications and ensure data quality and effectiveness across the enterprise.

  • Participate in the transition of transactional operations away from mainframe systems to more agile and scalable solutions.

  • Develop strategies to prepare our data ecosystem for self-service analytics and advanced AI/ML/GenAI applications.

  • Establish and enforce data discipline across the organization, including data governance, Master Data Management (MDM), and industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align data architecture with overall business strategy and objectives.

  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics to drive data-related initiatives and transformations.

Requirements for Success:

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in a related field, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience in enterprise data architecture, with a strong focus on modern data technologies.

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures.

  • Proven expertise in integration architectures and event-driven systems, with a track record of implementing such solutions in complex enterprise environments.

  • Strong understanding of various integration patterns, messaging systems, and event streaming platforms.

  • Experience in designing and implementing data quality processes within integration and event-driven architectures.

  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, MDM, and data management best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based data solutions and SaaS architectures.

  • Experience in preparing data infrastructure for AI/ML and self-service analytics capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational politics and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining architecture artifacts such as data flow diagrams, logical models, and physical data models.

  • Strong foundational background in data integration, data quality, and data security principles.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in the context of data architecture.

  • Ability to research and evaluate emerging data technologies and their potential application within the organization.

  • Skilled in providing strategic consultation to business and IT teams on data-related initiatives.
