Robert Half Director of Sales in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

We are in pursuit of a Director of Sales to join our team situated in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role revolves around setting sales objectives, supervising and managing account managers, and conducting regular reviews to ensure the achievement of sales targets. The employment type for this role is permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company goals and objectives.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team towards achieving set sales targets while ensuring optimal performance.

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Forge long-term relationships with customers and industry professionals.

  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, and other reporting necessary for executive review.

  • Analyze sales data and present reports to senior leadership.

  • Coordinate with marketing, production, and other departments to ensure streamlined operations.

  • Develop pricing schedules and rates, and monitor costs, competition, supply, and demand to identify selling prices.

  • Identify skill gaps and initiate relevant trainings to improve sales team competencies.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Director of Sales, or Senior Sales Management position.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with teams, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to devise effective sales strategies and lead a sales team towards achieving set targets.

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.

  • Solid understanding of market trends, sales metrics, and data analysis.

  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills.

  • Ability to travel as necessary for client meetings, sales presentations, and industry events.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. Advanced degrees or certifications would be a plus.

  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
