Department: Certified Surgical Tech School
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
Hospital: Ascension, St. Vincent Imaging Program
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Oversees ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes to assure effective
program operations.
Oversees curriculum development and periodic revision based on learning science and
current professional practices in surgical technology.
Participates in didactic and/or lab instruction.
Recommends resources needed to assure effective student learning and compliance
with regulatory requirements.
Assesses and recommends program equipment and facilities in relation to professional
practice in surgical technology.
Oversees the selection of students based on objective, standardized processes.
Recruits, hires, mentors and manages full-time instructional faculty/clinical
coordinators.

Responsibilities
Manage assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of educational activities and programs.
Provide leadership and management of multiple unit educators or team members, including work assignment, hiring, evaluating, coaching and terminating in consultation with leadership.
Coordinate and participate in the assessment of learning needs, design and implementation of plans to measure and improve performance, and evaluation of outcomes. Assess, plan and facilitate the education, knowledge/skills development and enrichment of others.
Oversee the development, maintenance, and currency of education, educational materials, and training. Ensure initiatives are best practice with written and electronic education records maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Participate in budget planning and management.
Requirements
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences
To be considered for the position, an applicant must be meet the following required
qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited program in surgical technology.
Credentialed and in good standing by the National Board of Surgical Technology and
Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Three years of occupational experience in surgical technology.
Possess an Associate Degree from an accredited institution.
Additionally, preference may be given to applicants who possess a Baccalaureate Degree from
an accredited institution
