Lilly Central Inspection Operations Associate in Indianapolis, Indiana

Organization Overview:

The Operations Associate will report to the Operations Associate Director in Indy Parenteral Central Inspections group. The Parenteral manufacturing area is responsible for the inspection of injectable products produced at Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing. The operations associate will provide administrative leadership, to a team within the department, that supports or executes inspection activities. The Operations Associate will provide leadership for one of the area’s process teams. The Operations Associate acts as a liaison between operations and multiple support groups to support process improvements, change controls, investigations and similar activities. The Operations Associate will also assist the operations team in the day to day management of the production floor and will lead investigations and drive implementation of actions and improvement projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership and operational knowledge of the area, equipment, and processes associated with the inspection of injectable products.

  • If applicable, responsible for the coaching, development, and performance evaluation of direct reports.

  • Help monitor and develop a strong safety culture.

  • Development and monitoring of metrics.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver technical and business solutions.

  • Lead specific activities of the process teams.

  • Qualified to conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures.

  • Support/facilitate improvements to equipment, processes and/or procedures.

  • Aid with batch/product approvals, issue resolution and production schedule execution. Providing guidance and leadership to the operations and cross functional teams.

  • Provide Operations leadership as back-up to Manager.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in leading teams and groups of people who are not direct reports.

  • Demonstrated ability in organizing and leading multiple projects.

  • Strong technical aptitude in engineering skills to learn and understand new equipment and processes.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Technical or science degree preferred.

  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience.

  • Career interests in leadership.

  • Experience working with parenteral products.

  • Experience researching and replicating the work of other areas / facilities.

  • Experience working hands on with equipment and processes and to train other technical staff and operators.

  • Experience using SAP, MES, Excel, Word, Power Point, HMIs, Historian Systems, and line performance monitoring or other similar systems.

  • Six sigma Green Belt or higher.

Additional Information:

  • Position is a day shift role, but requires flexibility to adjust schedule as needed to support the qualification and ongoing running of the area (24/7 operation)

  • Required to carry a phone to support operations.

  • Required Safety Equipment: Safety glasses, gowning, hearing protection, and safety shoes required per local area requirements.

  • Product Exposure: Position will work with various Lilly products
