Nexstar Media Group Broadcast Engineer, Maintenance in Indianapolis, Indiana

WXIN/WTTV, a Nexstar Media Group station, has an opening for a full-time*, on-site Maintenance Engineer to work in our Indianapolis location reporting to the Director of Technology.

The Maintenance Engineer will have a strong broadcast news background. The candidate will have a comfort with information technology and a passion for learning new technology in a fast-paced and challenging news operations environment.

*Full-time of 40 hours per week. Depending on candidate, this may be 5 x 8 hours weekly or 4 x 10 hours. Position will require participation in a rotating on-call status

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation and configuration of equipment into equipment racks.

  • Follow direct instructions and follow CAD drawings and cable database to install and troubleshoot.

  • Repair and return to service cameras, video and audio switchers, and satellite uplinks.

  • Primary first responder for building issues for short term remediation.

  • Support news, traffic, sales and master control operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors’ degree in engineering or computer science preferred; relevant work experience required

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer for a broadcast television station

  • Intermediate computer & networking skills required

  • Must be able to work efficiently under deadlines and time constraints

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and climb 20’ ladder.
