Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

A national non-profit headquartered on the Northwest side of Indianpolis has a immediate opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist on a full-time, contract to hire basis. This role will work in office 3-4 days a week and have the ability to work remote 1-2 days a week, once trained.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate collection of all accounts receivable. This role involves managing customer accounts, processing payments, and resolving billing discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts.

  • Review and process incoming payments.

  • Post payments and adjustments to customer accounts.

  • Prepare and send invoices to customers.

  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.

  • Monitor aging accounts receivable and take appropriate collection actions.

  • Data Entry and Reconciliation:

  • Accurately enter customer information and transactions into the accounting system.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and bank statements monthly.

  • Prepare reports on accounts receivable aging and collection activities.

Customer Service:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve billing issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.

  • Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and financial regulations.

  • Assist with audits and financial reporting.

    Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Experience in Financial Edge / Blackbaud preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization preferred.
