Schedule: Typically, forty-hours Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with 1 hour lunch. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Perform method validations and verifications.

  • Interact with manager and fellow team members to optimize the lab’s performance

  • Perform various sample preparation, extraction, and analysis techniques utilizing analytical methods.

  • Perform serial dilutions to create standards and quality control samples following a written method.

  • Perform identification, gravimetric, qualitative, and physical testing on a routine basis.

  • Execute titration testing, chromatography (GC) and elemental analysis (ICP-OES and/or GFAA).

  • Utilize basic instrumentation to perform testing on a routine basis.

  • Meet all testing assignment deadlines and document all analysis in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Complete DIR/OOS/CAPA documentation.

  • Assess SOPs and methods, recommend and initiate changes as needed.

  • Support audit activities.

  • Track lab reagents and consumables, and order materials when supplies are low

  • Pick up lab samples from various sample drop-off points in the factory

  • Dispose of low quantity hazardous waste that may include the use of a respirator

  • Perform routine lab maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe laboratory space.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related scientific discipline

  • Experience working with GC, ICP-OES, or GFAA preferred.

  • Experience in an FDA or cGMP regulated environment preferred.

  • Experience in an ISO 17025 certified environment preferred.

Skills & Proficiencies

  • Comfortable working in a newly built laboratory and able to adapt to client requests.

  • Understanding of theoretical knowledge behind instrumentation and methodology including method validation preferred.

  • Experience in the consumer products, pharmaceuticals or personal care industry preferred.

  • Positive attitude, and team building.

  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Accurate data management, sorting and interpreting.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • Excited to work with an adaptable team focused on non-routine, high-quality and rapid projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams, learning new skills, and proactively solving problems.

  • Enjoys working in a lab setting and contributing from the bench.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
