Overview:

Position Title : Analyst II

Business Title : Cell Molecular Biologist

Entity : Consumer Products Services Division

Department : ATL

Location : Indianapolis, Indiana

Reports to : Manager

FLSA : Non-Exempt

Hours Worked : Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Analyst – Cell Molecular Biologist is responsible for maintaining cell cultures, RNA isolation/qPCR. Maintaining and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementing a key in vitro screening assay to evaluate RNA therapeutics

  • Preforming molecular analysis of cells and samples for gene expression and biochemical readouts

  • Planning and organizing cell culture workflows to support key projects

  • Demonstrating high accountability and ownership of data from complex experimental designs

  • Tissue culture, cell culture maintenance, in-vitro assay development & implementation

  • Gene analysis methods (qPCR, ddPRC, etc.)

  • Complete work processes within designated deadlines

  • Electronic note booking

  • Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Comply with clients’ and Company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.

  • Perform other essential tasks projects and responsibilities as required.

  • Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload

Skills & Proficiencies:

  • Expertise in tissue culture and related techniques

  • Proficiency with in vitro assay development (transfection, mono-clonal line generation)

  • Proficiency with in vitro assay implementation (e.g. lucifierase or FRET screens in drug discovery)

  • Knowledge/hands-on experience with advanced gene analysis methods (qPCR, ddPRC, etc.)

  • Background in RNA Biology or Genetic Medicines a plus

  • Problem solving and process improvement ability

  • Possess and demonstrate written and verbal communication skills

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks

  • Ability to prioritize individual workload to meet or exceed deadlines

  • Individual and team work ethic

  • Basic computer skills: Windows, Word & Excel.

  • Attention to detail

  • Technical aptitude

  • Adheres to company values and maintain best laboratory practices including aseptic technique.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science

  • 2 years of related academic or industry experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
