Naval Sea Systems Command SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in Indian Head, Maryland

Summary You will serve as Operations Supervisor (Supervisory Technician) in the Energetics Manufacturing Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV) located in Indian Head, Maryland. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $153,354) Responsibilities You will manage and supervise engineering technicians and operations personnel, both those permanently assigned to their team and those in the existing ORG to which the Operations Supervisor is assigned to oversee. You will be responsible for management, supervision, and oversight of manufacturing/plant operations. You will perform standard personnel duties, conduct performance reviews, establish development and training plans, assign tasking, review and staff documentation and reports, and monitor cost, schedule, performance, safety, and quality. You will be required to utilize knowledge in processing and properties of energetics to include double base propellants, highly oxidized propellants, MTV, explosives, and energetic chemicals. You will provide expertise and understanding in the area of propellant manufacturing. You will utilize knowledge of Explosive and Occupational Safety in the manufacturing operations of propellants. You will ensure all safety standards, processes, and procedures are followed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading teams in process development, scale up, and manufacturing of energetic and/or hazardous materials.
