POSITION SUMMARY

We have an open Junior Field Sales Representative opportunity at Vantage. This is a key role on our sales team. We are seeking a dynamic and sharp professional with Sales and/or commercial experience who can add significant value to the business and our customers. The role will be based out of a remote office. It is essential to be near a major airport. To be successful in this role, the individual must have familiarity of commercial excellence, proven value capture, and the flexibility to travel extensively.

POSITION SCOPE

This role is responsible for attaining sales and gross margin targets within assigned accounts. You will have the opportunity to develop account strategies and contribute to business strategy and financial success. This is a rewarding opportunity, with a high-growth potential, and visible impact both internally and with business partners. The position will involve extended hours as necessary, the ability to work well under pressure and an intense pace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting accounts, generating leads, and developing & closing opportunities.

  • Be the Voice of the Customer: understand what is important to them, build trust, and drive for issue resolution.

  • Analyze market data and provide actionable insights in alignment with business objectives.

  • Actively engage with the Vantage Commercial Excellence Program to develop account strategies, create pre-call plans, follow-up with post-call reports and actively manage the opportunity funnel with the support of CRM

  • Provide feedback to Leadership in the form of call reports, forecasts of current & new business activity, market intel, and competitive information.

  • Provide feedback to the appropriate business functions regarding product performance, new product opportunities, and competitive intelligence including pricing data.

  • Assist Accounting and Customer Service functions in collection activities.

The Ideal Candidate

Desired Background

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or similar technical field is preferred. One to five years of experience in a commercial role. Ideally knowledgeable of Food or Chemical production/manufacturing.

  • The ability to sell, show, and promote Products & Services. This includes knowledge of value-based selling, product demonstrations, and marketing strategy and tactics, .

  • Capability to research, understand, and develop both current and prospective customers.

  • Prompt and proactive communication with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong planning, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Willingness and ability to travel 25-50% or more of the time, usually overnight.

  • Computer proficient and diligent in the use of commonly used software to support sales/marketing and business activities including MS Office Suite and CRM; ability to conduct research via internet.

  • Aptitude to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
