PURPOSE: Brews beer to specific recipes observing all sanitation and safety procedures, while promoting beer through marketing and restaurant functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Rock Bottom Orland Park is looking for a Brewer/Assistant Brewer to help produce great, locally brewed, beer for our guests. A candidate who enjoys craft beer, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty and can have a good time while doing it. Our breweries have 10bbl, direct fired brewhouses.

The Brewer/Assistant Brewer position requires a detail-oriented individual with a passion for craft beer production. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining brewing facility while ensuring product quality and adherence to food safety and company standards.

Position:

24-30 hours/week in both supervised and independent role.

Reports to local market Head Brewer and the Director of Brewing Operations.

Flexible schedule but must be able to work on Monday of each scheduled week.

Must be able to report to the Rock Bottom Warrenville site as well as the Orland Park location.

Must have a clean driving record and be able to responsibly operate a company Sprinter van.

Must be able to safely move/handle half-barrel kegs (165 lbs.) with proper material handling equipment.

Experience/Requirements:

Basic knowledge of brewing and related processes. Prior professional experience preferred.

Draft beer cleaning and maintenance.

Track inventory, restock and replenish ingredients, process/finished beer, and supplies.

Essential Physical Requirements:

50% Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high.

25% Lift 110 lbs. from ground to waist high and moving 150 lbs. along the floor.

15% Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders up to or exceeding 20 times per day.

10% Work in small and confined spaces.

10% Read, write and calculate basic algebra.

ESSENTIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of hourly position validations, including reading training materials and watching videos. Responsible alcohol certification within 60 days of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years old to pour alcohol or as state regulations dictate.
