Data Curator and Document Management Specialist

Our Nuclear Power Division is looking for a Document Management Specialist to join their team! Responsibilities will include data entry, curating and data management of information systems derived from Nuclear Regulatory Commission publicly available information. This is a critical role supporting Curtiss-Wright’s information management team and its over 5.2 million documents that are relied upon by the nuclear power industry when generating clean energy.

Location: Remote USA (not NY or CA) or onsite at Idaho Falls, ID

Your Challenge:

  • Curating documents in process queues and proper data entry of selected Nuclear Regulatory Commission documents collected via application programming interface for the Curtiss-Wright regulatory data base,

  • Maintaining and updating the database associated with Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection reports including gathering associated metadata. This requires developing an understanding of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s inspection report format and violation nomenclature,

  • Leveraging data management skills for publication development and issuance,

  • Supporting information submittals to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,

  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness by implementing data validation processes, verification of and addressing data quality issues,

  • Developing an understanding of proprietary database information to support or perform database queries and identify appropriate output documents.

  • Utilize existing database tools to collate and issue publications.

  • Performing document research using our NRS databases.

  • Communicate with clients as needed.

  • Support training package development and materials preparations.

  • Assist in the issuance of key reports/products.

  • Working with IT for database issue resolution

What You Bring:

  • High School education or equivalent, two-year associate degree is desirable.

  • Information Management experience including systems understanding and database query knowledge and information analysis. Information Management certificate is desirable.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites is required, certification in Excel, Word and Access is desirable.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to be self-directed, process oriented with high attention to detail.
