Idaho National Laboratory is hiring aCriticality Safety Engineering Managerto work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls Facility with every other Friday off.

You will manage a department of engineers and operations specialists that authors controls in collaboration with, research, operations, and other safety organizations. You will plan yearly and 5-year strategies for the criticality safety department. You will report to the Director of Nuclear Safety and Assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, directing, and implementing the INL Criticality Safety Program.
  • Providing technical and administrative direction for delivery of the Criticality Safety Program compliant to DOE and ANSI/ANS-8 industry standard requirements.
  • Ensuring that the criticality safety program and criticality safety evaluations performed are safe, compliant, cost effective, responsive, and meet quality requirements.
  • Interfacing and engaging Operations and other Laboratory organizations to coordinate program implementation.
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
  • Ability to communicate information both written and verbally.
  • Ability to**apply general rules to specific problems to establish controls that are easily understood and executable.

*Minimum Requirements: * * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related education with 5 years of relevant experience, or master’s and 2 years of relevant experience. * 2 years of management or technical leadership experience. * This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Nuclear Engineering Degree and professional nuclear experience
  • Specialized Experience – MCNP K-Code modeling experience

*Job Information: *

  • The target pay range for this position is $138,143 - $209,345 annually. The full pay range is $105,516 - $269,052. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
