We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager. As the shop manager,you will oversee fabrication activities and ensure efficient operations within the machining and welding department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing budgets,optimizing process efficiencies,and leading a team to meet production deadlines. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to enhance shop capabilities,manage resources effectively,and drive profitability.

Responsibilities

   Supervise the machining department,including hiring,retaining employees,and coordinating team activities to ensure on-time project completion.

   Manage departmental budgets and resources,including personnel,machines,tooling,and other assets.

   Utilize MRP systems to track project progress,costs,and employee time,and work with Project Managers to ensure on-time deliveries within budget.

   Collaborate with Engineering to understand manufacturing requirements and provide feedback on part designs and project scopes.

   Adjust production schedules in coordination with the Planning and Scheduling Manager and oversee the maintenance program within the department.

   Maintain records,prepare reports,and manage communication related to scheduling,quality,and other operational aspects.

   Develop and implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and profitability.

   Oversee outsourcing activities,including working with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of parts.

Qualifications

   Proven management experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.

   Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.

   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

   Proficiency in managing budgets and leading a production team.

   Experience in process improvement,production procedures,and performance management.

   Ability to read and interpret work specifications,drawings,and technical diagrams.

   Skills in inventory and cost control,with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.

   Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and move about as needed.

   Capability to operate industrial machinery and vehicles,including forklifts.

   Ability to ascend/descend stairs or ladders and perform tasks that require bending,kneeling,or crouching.

   Effective communication and visual acuity for detailed inspections and operations.

   Capacity to lift and carry weights up to 100 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

*Pay *

$25.00 - $35.00 Per Hour

Day Shift | 7:00am 4:00pm | Monday-Friday
