Location: San Jose, California

Salary Range: 134,900 to 161,900

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. THE ENERGY TEAM

Our Energy Group at CEI builds projects from the field to the grid. Whether it’s a solar, battery storage, substation, EV charging, microgrid or converter station project, our skilled project managers, engineers and field employees deliver when it matters most. We work with customers on programs of all sizes—those spanning several smaller sites or spanning several thousand acres. Besides building some of the nation’s largest utility-scale solar plants and installing more EV charging stations in California than any other contractor, we are dedicated to running a business that is environmentally responsible

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Development Manager at CEI will coordinate RFP responses with estimating, pre-construction, and project management teams. They will execute the Business Development strategic plan and revenue targets, lead commercial negotiations on EPC contracts and exhibits, and manage business development relations and communication with customers. Other responsibilities include:

  • Represent CEI at tradeshows, conferences, industry groups, and offsite functions

  • Ability to provide innovative and entrepreneurial thinking to a project or portfolio

ABOUT YOU

  • A balance of technical knowledge and communication skills

  • Prior experience in solar, electric vehicles, or battery energy storage and the ability to understand key drivers in estimating projects

  • Experience with advanced Microsoft software is important – especially MS Word, Excel, and Teams

  • Verifiable experience of safe, reliable and integrity-driven work habits, including working in an unsupervised field setting when appropriate

  • Team player mentality

  • Passion for the renewable energy industry

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering or similar preferred

Experience: 3 or more years of experience in renewable energy construction, general contracting, or renewable energy development

  • Remote location ok with preference for West Coast or California

  • Travel up to 50%
