Are you a skilled driver with a CDL and a passion for logistics? We are seeking dedicated Warehouse Technician (CDL) to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our supply chain, you will ensure the seamless transportation of WMATA's materials, contributing to the success of our transit's operations and satisfaction of our customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, and experience in warehouse operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Experience
- One (1) year of experience in warehouse and storeroom environment, using inventory and materials management software and Microsoft Excel and Word. Also, must have experience using barcode equipment and automated data process systems
Certification/Licensure
- Commercial Driver's License Class B
Preferred
Experience
Experience with Maximo, Work Order, PeopleSoft, and Basis systems
Experience with Key Performance Indicators

Job Summary
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for efficient and effective materials handling work. The incumbent acts as custodian of various inventory items up to and including office furniture across the authority. The incumbent coordinates and performs general warehousing duties up to but not limited to pick up and deliveries, inventory control, general security and other duties.
Essential Functions
Acts as custodian of designated facilities and storage location. Ensures the proper care and custody and safekeeping of Authority assets. Ensures furniture and asset deliveries and pickups are made according to schedule.
Receives and stores incoming merchandise and stores it for future deliveries ensuring the appropriate allocation and flow of assets throughout the process.
Operates an official WMATA non-revenue vehicle to pick up and deliver furniture, office equipment, salvable materials and other items.
Arranges for inspection of damaged goods by claims inspectors or shipping vendors for replacement or repair.
Prepares, establishes and maintains files, records, and reports that support WMATA¿s financial account.
Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks in performance of duties to ensure financial accountability.
