To support our mission, we are seeking to fill a Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) I- (Sr. RA) VI position to join the Tarrant County North Management Unit. This position is located at 8701 Bedford-Euless Rd, Hurst, Texas.

The RA I-Sr RA assists the assigned VR Counselor in providing services to customers to achieve successful employment outcomes. The RA I-Sr. RA provides basic information regarding VR programs, services, and referral information to customers and vendors.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have excellent planning/organizing/time management/communication skills with the ability to prioritize/coordinate work in an independent manner to achieve goals.
GENERAL DUTIES: -Performs: Entry level to journey-level human services/rehabilitation support work; Routine caseload support service such as creating/maintaining/reviewing technical case management forms/files for accuracy utilizing the electronic case management system. -Collects information for intake/profile process. -Maintains appropriate business relationships with providers/businesses/customers/staff. -Prepares/reviews reports for accuracy on monitored services. -Provides: Casework services/assistance to the VR Counselor in certification of eligibility; Service delivery tasks and utilize the electronic case management system and other agency supported software programs; Initial screening for individuals applying for VRS service programs. -Participates in Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) training. -Furnishes information regarding Texas Workforce Solutions (TWS)/VRS Program, services and requirements to applicants/customers/families/vendors/businesses/general public. -May train others. -Performs other related work as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -Eighteen (18) months experience in office practices and office support work utilizing a personal computer in a Windows' based environment -Experience in: Applying purchasing procedures; Case guidelines, regulations and policies; Case management support functions -Knowledge of: Community and government service delivery systems; Mental illness and emotional components of physical illness -Ability to: Interpret highly complex policies/procedures; Maintain confidentiality; Analyze/interpret highly complex financial data -Skill in interviewing and in conducting individual needs assessments - RA I: 12 months experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field - RA II: 18 months experience as a RA I - RA III: 24 months experience as a RA II - Sr. RA: 36 months experience as a RA III
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - RA I- One year of full time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field and graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Thirty (30) semester hours in human services, social science, business, or a related field may be substituted for experience. - RA II- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework plus one year and six months of full time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field. One additional year of full-time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education. - RA III- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework plus two years of full time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field. One additional year of full-time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education. - Sr. RA- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework plus two years and six months of full- time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business or a related field. One year of full-time experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education All levels: Experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant cited above must be in accordance with the career ladder requirements of the agency. Related work experience is defined as case management support, purchasing and general knowledge of disabilities.
Position may involve working hours other than 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday and involves travel 10% of the time, including some overnight travel (Method of transportation is the responsibility of employee).
