Description

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking to hire a Field Machinist / Welder based out of their Hurricane, UT location. This full-time benefited position will perform welding repairs and fabrication on all types of machinery in the field and / or shop. This position is responsible for work at both mine sites and construction site locations, performing welding, cutting, ARC gouging and layout, line bore welding and machining.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.

  • Perform welding, cutting, ARC gouging and layout, line bore welding and machining.

  • Maintain field service truck and company provided equipment.

  • Order and Return parts.

  • Maintain and complete daily reports, paperwork, DOT logs, inspections, and timecards.

  • Demonstrate excellent work ethic with self-motivation, ability to work safely with minimal supervision on customer job sites, while maintaining expectations of thoroughness.

  • Have the ability to keep up with new technology and advancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of welding repairs on machinery, buckets, dozer blades, etc.

  • Dependable and willing to meet customers’ expectations.

  • Ability to accomplish work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Must have good computer and report writing skills.

  • Great organizational skills, great communicator, support management

  • Experienced line bore welding and machining skill set.

  • Certified welder with field welding experience

  • Ability to work with people in a positive way coach, mentor, educate.

  • CDL and medical card. Comply with DOT Regulations

  • Current MSHA certificate

  • Excellent skills with cutting torch and ARC gouging

  • Knowledge of welding repairs on machinery, buckets, dozer blades, etc.

  • Dependable and willing to meet customers’ expectations.

  • Ability to accomplish work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Must have good computer and report writing skills.

  • Great organizational skills, great communicator, support management

  • Experienced line bore welding and machining skill set.

  • Experience fitting weldments per designed prints.
