*Job Title: Peer Support and Youth Transition Coordinator *Job Description: The Peer Support and Youth Transition Coordinator is an Independent Living Specialist who specializes in Peer Support and Youth Transition. *About Independent Living Choices: Independent Living Choices is a 501c3 Nonprofit that provides services to people with disabilities who make independence their choice. One of only 2 Centers for Independent Living in the state of South Dakota, we provide services to 50 counties and all 9 Tribal Nations. *What its Like to Work Here: Many of our employees have been with Independent Living Choices for a number of years. Starting wage is between $19 - $21 per hour, DOQ. Health, vision, dental, 401k, and additional benefits are available after the introductory period. Employees begin with 160 hours of Paid Time Off in addition to at least 9 paid holidays per year. Agency vehicles provided for work related travel. *A Day in the Life of a Peer Support and Youth Transition Coordinator: The Peer Support and Youth Transition Coordinator is an Independent Living Specialist who specializes in Peer Support and Youth Transition. Independent Living Specialists provide case management type services to people with disabilities who make independence their choice. As the Coordinator of ILCs 1:1 Peer Visitor Program, you will coordinate matches between trained Peer Visitors and people with disabilities who need some support from someone who has *been there. You will work with Peer Visitors from start to finish and support them as they support others. As the Youth Transition Coordinator, you will develop agendas, coordinate tours, speakers, and activities, and be the lead in facilitating programming for ILCs Summer Transition Programs. ILCs Youth Transition Programs are held throughout our coverage area, primarily during the summer months. **Qualifications to be a Peer Support and Youth Transition Coordinator: The right person will have a positive and outgoing attitude, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and be well organized. Graduation from a four-year degree program in an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in counseling, social work, psychology, human services, or another relevant field. Must possess a valid South Dakota drivers license.
