Essential Duties:

  • Manages all warehouse purchases and maintains appropriate inventory levels to support the needs of each LOB serviced.

  • Actively pursues all inventory related goals as outlined in the Warehouse Operations Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).

  • Ensures the proper purchasing of approved items from approved sources.

  • Ensures timely entering/completion of all warehouse forms/documents including, but not limited to, purchase invoices, requisitions, returns, transfers, etc.

  • Manages and completes a full and accurate warehouse inventory weekly.

  • Achieves financial objectives by analyzing variances in a timely manner; initiating corrective actions; scheduling/monitoring expenditures; controlling labor costs.

  • Actively supports LOB sales activities to include purchasing, rotation, placement and mapping of all products.

  • Manages and trains all warehouse picking staff. Actively pursues all warehouse picking goals.

  • Maintains warehouse in a safe and clean manner as outlined in the Warehouse Audit SOP; ensures that the warehouse is always in a state to pass any internal and/or external inspection/audit.

  • Adheres to and implements all employee safety related policies including the usage of all applicable signage, forms, etc.

  • Adheres to and implements all food safety related policies including the usage of all applicable signage, forms, etc.

  • Reviews warehouse reports daily and weekly to ensure employee performance, data integrity, control spoilage rates and control labor costs.

  • Maintains schedules to ensure picking activity is conducted in a timely manner and is completed each day.

  • Controls employee scheduling so that employees are allowed their requested days off, and the operation has enough labor each

  • day for service obligations; when necessary, performs activities of workers supervised.

  • Able to perform all job duties assigned to warehouse personnel in support of warehouse operations.

  • Completes all forms of self-regulation including pick audits and warehouse audits.

  • Schedules regular meetings with warehouse personnel and fosters open lines of communication with direct reports; confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of the operation and attends regular staff meetings to keep informed and updated about current developments related to our company.

  • Ensures a safe working environment and communicates company safely policies and goals to employees; secures necessary vehicles for warehouse personnel (if applicable) and ensures proper maintenance of fleet vehicles used for warehouse purposes; oversees all aspects of building maintenance including repairs, housekeeping and security.

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.

  • Individual will notify a member of Senior Management of any information that would be beneficial in employee and/or customer retention.

  • Maintains timely communication with Director of Warehouse Operations regarding new items, equipment needs, etc.

  • Maintains technical knowledge of all internal systems including, but not limited to, VendSys and LightSpeed.

  • Maintains physical condition of all warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, handhelds, computers, racking, carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Management/Supervisory:

  • Directly supervises all warehouse employees.

  • Be able to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training warehouse employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; communication with essential Line of Business (LOB) managers within division.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
