Overview

i3 is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a unique and complex Army engineering effort located in Huntsville, Alabama. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing high-level technical and engineering support and leadership. The position involves collaborating with civilian government personnel and a diverse team of engineering professionals to ensure project goals and timelines are achieved. The candidate can expect up to 10% travel. This position is contingent upon contract award, estimated late September timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Originate and maintain a System Requirements Document derived from requirement statements in TO and/or SOW, and further derive testable requirements in coordination with customer and engineering team leads to ensure final designs verifiably meet all customer requirements and expectations.

• Take a leading role in contract transition out efforts, ensuring all deliverables are recognized and tracked by Program Management and team, organized, and delivered throughout the life of the contract.

• Perform demonstrations and interface with customers to ensure product meets end customer goals.

• Support engineering and design teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Present systems engineering concepts to internal teammates and customers alike.

• Support engineering efforts in preparation for milestone reviews such as Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), including tracking the status of all milestone deliverables.

• Track and assist in creation of Action Item lists.

• Take leading role in the creation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents, as well as with facilitating communication between subsystem interface team leads.

• Support Configuration Manager in maintaining design baseline consisting of all requisite deliverables.

• Travel approximately 10% to support the team.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or relevant discipline. Additional years of experience may substitute for degree.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.

• Knowledge and/or experience with Agile Scrum development methodology and associated tools.

• Knowledge and/or experience with a configuration management software tool.

• Knowledge and/or experience with requirements analysis tools (e.g. Rational Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Innoslate, CAMEO).

• Experience developing requirements for DoD customers preferred.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
