Venturi, LLC A Chenega Company has an exciting career opportunity for a Systems Engineer, Intermediate who will provide engineering support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Products Support team, with a focus on requirements, modeling, and simulation (M&S), and validation and verification (V&V) activities in support of missile defense framework and Core Truth Model (CTM) development. This individual will play an important technical role on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract supporting the Missile Defense Agency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review missile defense system requirements for the framework and CTM development

  • Develop and review verification and validation plans for CTM development and coordination with the accrediting organization

  • Draft and review technical documents

  • Coordinate system engineering life cycle products and activities with both internal and external stakeholders, including prime developers and the Missile System elements

  • Support troubleshooting and develop solutions for framework and CTM observations in support of MDA’s ground test and flight test programs

  • Interact between the government and prime developer in support of MDA’s ground test and flight test programs

  • Analyze the integration of systems engineering processes and methodologies to ensure the effectiveness of work

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the STEM field

  • 7+ years of related professional experience

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-secret clearance

  • Experience with Agile and SAFe software development principles

  • Experience with M&S requirements development

  • Experience with M&S development

  • Experience with M&S verification and validation

  • Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers (geographically diverse) of different perspectives, skills, and backgrounds

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to non-technical trained people

Desired:

  • Experience working with the missile defense system and the Missile Defense Agency

  • Practical experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and other languages typically used for system modeling (i.e., DoD Architecture framework and UML)

  • Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers (geographically diverse) of different perspectives, skills, and backgrounds

  • Exposure to MDA test events and activities supported by M&S products and services

  • Experience with analysis, test, and systems engineering of M&S for one or more elements of the MDS (i.e., Patriot, THAAD, GMD, Sensors, or C2)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.

  • In-depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission.

  • Familiarity with DOD and MDA processes and procedures.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership.

  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications.

  • Ability to execute and complete tasks with no supervision.

  • Ability to travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
