Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) – Top Secret

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Officer to provide IT support services to support IT networks, systems, and initiatives under a Federal Law Enforcement Portfolio. Support a team responsible for maintaining the Authority to Operate (ATO) for applications and systems across the Portfolio. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, modify, implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to safeguard the IT Portfolio and maintain compliance with FBI and NIST guidelines for system and information security. This includes any new compliance mandates set by external entities, such as Executive Orders, DOJ policies, and FISMA requirements.

  • Actively monitor systems and respond in the event of a security incident through a documented and approved system security plan

  • Support the management of systems security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security software

  • Conduct monthly vulnerability scans, monthly Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) creation, implement patches, ensure controls are reviewed, adhered to, and modified as needed

  • Meet regularly with stakeholder teams to coordinate responses to the vulnerabilities and risks identified in the scans and POAMs

  • Support Government personnel obtain and/or maintain system Authority to Operate (ATO) status requiring compliance with the requirements set by the Government’s OCIO. All activities and documentation will be managed in Risk Vision, Xacta, and/or a similar system prescribed by the Government’s OCIO

  • Act as a subject matter expert for all information and system security related matters, advising Government personnel of best practices/solutions and documenting all aspects of the security program.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • High school, diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s degree.

  • 8+ years of cybersecurity experience

  • Familiarity with Federal Law Enforcement Agile ATO process

  • Experience with RiskVision, Xacta and JCAM
