Amentum Space Exploration Division NDE Engineer #ADV0009RT in Huntsville, Alabama
The Non-Destructive Evaluation and Damage Tolerance Group serving the Non-Destructive Evaluation and Damage Tolerance Branch (EM21) at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL has an opening for a subject matter expert (SME) Engineer in the area of Non-destructive Evaluation (NDE). This NDE professional will serve as a subject matter expert on a strong and high performing team of approximately 25 team members, including: engineers, technicians, interns and subcontractor personnel. As a contributor on this team, the selected individual will provide support for NDE projects and be able to interface with Project Management, Chief Engineers and Fracture Control Boards on projects including HLS, SLS, ISS and CCP for NDE related engineering matters such as NASA-STD-5009 compliance, NDE method applicability and NDE plan development. Also, the individual shall be a NAS-410 NDE LII, preferably LIII, in several standard or special NDE methods and be able to provide hands-on NDE support. Job Requirements: A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM field is required. A degree from an ABET institution is preferred. A minimum of 25 years of experience is required. The individual shall be a NAS-410 NDE LII, preferably LIII, in several standard or special NDE methods and be able to provide hands-on NDE support.
