COLSA Corporation Lead Program Engineer-UAS Program in Huntsville, Alabama

General Summary

COLSA Corporation is seeking cadidates for a Program Engineer that will serve as the lead engineer for a UAS program. The Program Engineer will be responsible for the oversight of all engineering aspects of the program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Performs advanced engineering duties as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.*

  • Applies knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve basic problems

  • Designs a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability

  • Participates on multidisciplinary teams

  • Identifies, formulates, and finds solutions to engineering problems

  • Plans, designs and estimates time and cost on specific engineering projects

  • Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of study or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 20 years related experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required

  • Product design using SolidWorks and manufacturing experience

  • Carbon fiber, 3D additive, and other advanced manufacturing knowledge using lightweight materials

  • Experience with UAS design

  • Supply Chain knowledge

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience managing schedules and product deliveries

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Rapid prototyping experience
