Job Description Summary

Creates and writes various types of user documentation for use on various web based applications. Ensures technical verbiage is easy to understand. Creates and edits images to visually engage users. Strategically coordinates with team members to collectively achieve desired results. Ensures organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees via the intranet, email, and/or Credit Union newsletter.

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements work plans to achieve goals and objectives. Utilizes resources effectively. Participates in evaluating work processes and procedures to identify opportunity for improvement. Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports.

  • Maintains, and publishes informational articles to ensure accurate information is available in a timely manner to support daily functions and enhance the knowledge base of Credit Union employees. This includes executing time sensitive information including but not limited to rates, inclement weather, system issues and daily recurring information.

  • Plans, writes, and edits content for a variety of multi-media channel including but not limited to: intranet articles, podcasts, content management systems, blog posts, emails, organizational wide newsletter, etc.

  • Serves as back up for updates to training materials and programs, including but not limited to: procedures, and help guides.

  • Develops, maintains, and publishes print and web based forms.

  • Responsible for developing design concepts, graphics, and layouts using software including but not limited to: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Canva, etc.

  • Serves as back up for managing administrative tasks in the intranet software and content management solutions, including but not limited to: testing releases, troubleshooting issues, user administration, maintaining permissions, and user maintenance.

  • Maintains knowledge of communications channels ensuring content is relevant, consistent and reflects the Credit Union culture.

  • Assists with monitoring user-generated content and analyzes and reports on intranet site analytics.

  • Collaborates with departments, Credit Union wide, to analyze communication needs, align with strategic plans, and deliver comprehensive solutions.

  • Evaluates business critical materials and creates learning opportunities by actively engaging employees on the organizations intranet.

  • Ensures all internal and external customer service practices and processes are carried out and meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.

  • Develops and designs monthly collateral (video, written, and more) for the organizational wide newsletter.

  • Creates and edits video content on a variety of topics for internal communication as well as for other areas of the organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements
  • Required - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline.
Experience Requirement
  • Required - Experience in writing, communication, and/or web design/development.

  • Required - Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Required - Prior technical writing and/or web design experience.

  • Preferred - Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites and HTML5.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.

  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

  • Understand how to write, edit and proofread for appropriate audiences as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.

  • Ensure all internal and external customer service practices and processes are carried out and meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.

  • Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions.

  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office suites, included but not limited to Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Publisher, Word, Excel, etc.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Resolve problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience.

  • Lead and model RISE values and the Code of Ethics through daily interactions and conduct.

  • Promote and foster excellent member service and teamwork.

  • Operate computers and use business software and other standard office equipment.

  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.

  • Set priorities and manage ones own time effectively.
