The EMC Engineer will provide Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering support to the ES31 RF, E3 and GNandC Branch of the Space Systems Department in the Engineering Directorate for the area of aerospace/avionics, space hardware applications, etc. The E3 support provided will include EMC analysis, requirement definition, test planning, and circuit test and analysis. Candidate should have experience in EMC analysis, EMC test planning and procedures, and critical circuit test and analysis as related to space or flight hardware and systems. Experience in evaluating test and analysis data and waivers in the areas of electromagnetic interference (EMI), electrostatic discharge, corona, grounding, isolation, bonding, and wiring is a plus. In addition, this individual will have the opportunity to prepare inputs to, or assist in development of: Project documentation Requirement verification Requirement validation Presentation and trade study reports/packages

Job Requirements: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Science, with 5-10 years applicable experience is required. A degree from an ABET accredited institution is preferred. Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, -462, -464 or equivalent specifications is required. Must be proficient with common computer operating systems and Microsoft Office software programs. Proficiency with: Mathematical Analyses (MATLAB, MathCAD, Excel) Analysis Tools (spice software and electromagnetic simulation software such as High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) , FEKO or equivalent) Operational knowledge of EMI Lab Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators) Familiarity with Programming Languages (C, Visual Basic). Excellent organizational skills and an ability to perform technical tasks independently is required.
