The Configuration Engineer
Configuration Engineer is to support the management of DoD drawings, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Release Records (ERRs), Notice of Revisions (NORs), drawing updates via redlined drawings, and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) for the design, production, testing, and fielding of remote weapon stations.This is an on-site position.
Minimum Requirements And Qualification
- Bachelors in engineering or similar discipline required.
- 3+ years' configuration management experience within the Department of Defense capability delivery environment.
- Experience in the use of CM tools to achieve effective configuration management.
- Expertise in the delivery of configuration management documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards is required
- Knowledge of Creo, SolidWorks, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong communication and organization skills, customer service, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
Major Responsibility Areas And Duties
- Assist with reviewing program-unique specifications to include system specifications, development specifications, and product specifications for both hardware and software, for proper format, content, and compliance with program requirements and appropriate standards; and track the requests through the appropriate government agencies for responding back to the customer.
- Support the configuration control function, to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking, and final disposition, Requests for Deviation/ Waiver (RFD/RFW), review change proposals for thoroughness, configuration and data management impacts and compliance with Government requirements; make appropriate recommendations for Government review and disposition.
- Assist in the preparation and conduct of CCB and business management boards (or their equivalent); assist in maintaining change proposal files; and assist in providing historical information.
- Assist in reviewing compliance with Government technical data requirements.
- Interface with Engineering team to create ECPs, NORs, and ERRs.
- Perform internal Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCAs/PCAs) on items as they are received and assembled.
- Review drawings notes, specifications, Parts Lists, and next higher assembly information for correctness on Fabrication, Vendor Item and Source Control Drawings.
- Manage Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRL) deliveries for DoD contracts.
- Establish and document standard processes and procedures for CM related activities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and Project) and Teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, customer service, and attention to detail.
