Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a 5 Axis CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC Machined components to join our Manufacturing team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will understand advanced manufacturing principles, particularly in 3-axis and 5-axis machining. The candidate will utilize their technical expertise to work within the team to machine a variety of machine components. The successful candidate will solve complex technical issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, and external parties.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ideal candidate should have experience in setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.

• Experience in the manufacturing of aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium, is a plus.

• Applicant must be able to work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced environment with little or no assistance.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidates must have precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.

• Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with 3 or more years relevant experience.

• Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.

• Candidate must be able to work overtime when required.

• Applicant must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift.

• Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 axis machining experience.

• (2) two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool.

• SURFCAM, experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
