deciBel Research has an immediate opening for an Aviation Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research is seeking a Junior to Mid-level System Systems Engineer supporting a DoD program to work the detailed planning, documenting, tracking and oversight of all of the System Engineering Technical Processes, Technical Management Processes and Activities (i.e.: Reviews and Audits).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure the traceability of requirements from Program Capability Description Document and platform performance specifications through the functional and allocated baseline specifications utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Conduct requirements analysis to ensure correct allocation and alignment of requirements across the specification tree.
  • Review technical documentation, verification plans and reports to ensure fulfillment of all program requirements.
  • Support requirement trade studies to support resolution of emerging issues during program development, integration, verification, and validation events.
  • Support execution of Critical Design Review(s), Technical Risk Assessments, and other technical reviews.
  • Assist program IPTs in identifying program risks, issues, and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and technical performance; and ensuring that effective mitigation strategies are developed.
  • Coordinate the processing of changes to system requirements, configuration documents, or contract requirements through the appropriate overarching program governing processes.
  • Support development of Systems Engineering Plan, contract requirement package, and other program milestone documentation IAW DoD and Army policies, regulations, and instructions for a Major Defense Acquisition Program.
  • Coordinate the review, adjudication, and staffing of technical and programmatic documentation.
  • Provide regular status of SE efforts Leadership.

Education Requirements:

BS Aerospace Engineering, systems engineering or related technical field.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ Years of experience.
  • Experience with system, subsystem, and/or component level requirements and associated traceability/decomposition.
  • Experience with system verification activities for flight and validation of system, sub-system and component requirements.
  • Domain knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (e.g., how to write a good requirement; standard verification methods; functional decomposition; standard diagramming techniques; risk and opportunity management).
  • Domain knowledge of the Systems Engineering V process.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Domain knowledge of Rotorcraft or Aviation platform and systems.
  • Experience using MBSE processes and tools (specifically Cameo Enterprise Architect).
  • Digital Engineering Experience.
