Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior to Mid-Level ANSYS Mechanical Modeler (Explicit Dynamics) to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects involving weapon systems, where technical excellence and innovative solutions are encouraged. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer with experience in modeling structural responses to blast loads. The successful candidate will contribute to weapon system analysis, development, and maintenance, ensuring robust design and functionality. This position requires a combination of strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop, validate, and analyze finite element models in ANSYS Mechanical with a focus on explicit dynamics.

  • Perform simulations on structures exposed to blast loads, ensuring accurate representation of real-world conditions.

  • Conduct analysis, development, and maintenance of weapon systems to meet performance and reliability standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Structural Engineers, to interpret modeling results and refine designs accordingly.

  • Document modeling procedures, findings, and recommendations to support project goals and client requirements.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ANSYS software advancements and best practices in explicit dynamics and structural modeling.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Travel Requirement: Up to 15%

  • Must hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

  • Education: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ANSYS Mechanical modeling with a focus on explicit dynamics applications.

  • Proven experience in modeling structures under blast load conditions, with a portfolio of past projects demonstrating these capabilities.

  • Strong proficiency in finite element modeling and a solid understanding of material behavior under high strain rates.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and validate simulation data to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Strong communication skills for reporting results and collaborating with team members.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
