Actalent Certified Pharmacy Technician in Huntington, West Virginia

Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in the preparation and dispensing of prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy. Your responsibilities include packaging medications for dispensing and delivery while meeting accuracy and productivity standards. You will label products appropriately, participate in periodic inventory, and may check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items. You will also prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding. Additionally, you will communicate with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner, process returned medications for credit or destruction, and assist in training new employees. You will perform at least one of the following tasks: working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room, working with automated machines to prepack drugs, managing inventory functions, inputting patient data and medication orders into a computer system, mixing/packaging IV medications, and servicing facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow). Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Huntington, West Virginia.

Work Environment

One Shift is 9:00 am - 5:30 pm and the other is 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm. May have to stay longer based on the volume of work. Rotating weekends.
