This position is responsible for maintaining and servicing department vehicles as well as maintaining the jail facility grounds. The duties for this role include performing preventative maintenance, adjustments and repairs on department vehicles including oil and filter changes, tune ups and break jobs, installing lighting hardware and equipment as needed. The Garage Tech/Building Maintenance Tech also responds to repair requests both within the jail cells and outside of the cell areas including replacing light bulbs, repairing water leaks, clogged drains, broken locks, doors, and beds.

A successful candidate must be able to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis, and work with minimal supervision. Must be 18 years old, have a HS Diploma/GED, and hold or have the ability to complete 40 hours from an accredited Jail Officer School.

Pay is up to $23.69 per hour.
