This job opportunity is open for public application.

During training, rate of pay is $16.50 per hour. If training is successfully completed and you are hired as a substitute or permanent driver, rate of pay will be $27.076 per hour. PLEASE NOTE: Current OVSD classified employees may not hold two permanent job assignments. If you are already a permanent employee for the District and are interested in working more hours you may either submit a transfer request form to the Classified Personnel office or inquire about becoming a substitute in the same or other classifications, in addition to your permanent assignment. We reserve the right to limit the number of candidates to those deemed most qualified for the particular vacancy. There will be an application screening for the position to verify that the minimum qualifications (education, experience, and required attachments) have been satisfied, and a selection interview to participate in the training program.

• High School diploma or equivalent

• One year of experience in the operation of a motor vehicle

• Safe driving record

• Minimum 18 years of age

• Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver License

• DMV K-4 printout (official copy of 3 year driving record)

• Bus Drivers certificate including valid California Class A or B license with P endorsement is preferred, but not required

• Within first 3 months of employment, must obtain all applicable licenses taught during the training program

  • DMV Printout (DMV K-4 printout (official copy of 3 year driving record)

  • Proof of HS Graduation (High school diploma, high school equivalent, GED certificate, high school transcripts, college degree, college transcripts are all accepted as proof of HS graduation)
